Horizontal & Vertical Operable Wall Panel Specifications

Type 100 & Type 110 Operable Wall Systems

1. System Description

The Operable Wall System is a fully top-hung, manually operated movable partition designed to create flexible and acoustically controlled spaces. The system requires no floor tracks, allowing smooth and obstruction-free floor surfaces. Panels can be configured in various sizes and stacked efficiently at designated parking locations according to project requirements.

When fully deployed, the system forms a solid acoustic wall providing sound insulation performance of up to STC 55dB, depending on site conditions, panel configuration, and finishing materials.

2. Aluminium Track System

The track system is manufactured from high-strength extruded 6063-T6 anodized aluminium alloy. The track profile incorporates precision-engineered interlocking connections to ensure perfect alignment between adjoining track sections.

The system is suspended from the building structure using adjustable steel drop rods and brackets, ensuring accurate leveling and long-term structural stability. The track assembly is engineered to support heavy-duty panel operation while maintaining smooth and quiet movement.

3. Roller Trolley Mechanism

Each panel is supported by high-performance nylon roller trolleys designed for smooth, silent, and maintenance-friendly operation. Depending on the approved stacking arrangement, center-stacking or side-stacking trolley configurations may be utilized.

The trolley assembly incorporates hardened steel components and precision bearings for durability and reliable performance under continuous operation.

4. Aluminium Panel Frames

All panels are constructed using reinforced extruded aluminium perimeter frames engineered for structural integrity and dimensional stability. Visible aluminium trims are finished with high-quality anodized treatment to provide corrosion resistance and a modern appearance.

5. Panel Construction

The panel core structure consists of a reinforced aluminium framework combined with high-density acoustic insulation materials.

Panel faces may be finished with:
  • High Pressure Laminate (HPL)
  • Decorative Veneer
  • Fabric Finish
  • Leather Finish
  • Vinyl Finish
  • Magnetic Whiteboard Surface
  • Painted Finish
  • Stainless Steel Finish
  • Wallpaper Finish
  • Custom Architectural Finishes
Panel Specifications:
  • System Thickness: 100 mm (Type 100) / 110 mm (Type 110)
  • Maximum Panel Width: Up to 1230 mm
  • Maximum Panel Height: Up to 6.0 meters
  • Acoustic Performance: Up to STC 55dB
  • Average Panel Weight: Approximately 36–38 kg/m² (excluding decorative finish)

All panels are manufactured with precision interlocking vertical profiles to ensure acoustic integrity and smooth alignment throughout the partition wall.

6. Retractable Seal Mechanism

Each panel incorporates a manually operated retractable sealing system housed within the top and bottom rails.

The mechanism is activated using a removable operating handle, which extends or retracts the seals through an internal steel and spring-assisted mechanism.

Once engaged, the seals secure the panel firmly against the floor and ceiling, creating a stable acoustic barrier.

Available Locking Options:
  • Single Crank Lock System
  • Multi-Point Locking System

7. Acoustic Seals

The system utilizes premium-quality EPDM acoustic rubber seals throughout the partition assembly.

Seal Locations:
  • Top Retractable Seal
  • Bottom Retractable Seal
  • Vertical Interlocking Seals
  • End Closure Seals
Seal Performance:
  • Top Seal Travel: Up to 25 mm
  • Bottom Seal Travel: Up to 28 mm

The final closure panel is fitted with a specialized EPDM bulb seal designed to compensate for minor wall irregularities and maintain optimal acoustic performance.

8. Acoustic Core Insulation

Each panel is filled with high-density Rockwool acoustic insulation featuring a density of approximately 96 kg/m³.

This acoustic core contributes significantly to:
  • Sound Reduction Performance
  • Thermal Insulation
  • Fire Resistance Properties
  • Vibration Absorption

9. Panel Stacking Options

Panels can be configured with various stacking arrangements to suit architectural and operational requirements, including:

  • Side Stacking
  • Center Stacking
  • Single Point Parking
  • Multiple Parking Locations

The final stacking configuration is determined according to approved architectural drawings and project requirements.

10. Panel Weight

The average panel weight is approximately:

  • 36–38 kg/m² (without decorative finish)

Weight may vary depending on selected surface finishes, panel dimensions, and acoustic requirements.

11. Track Load Capacity

Our customized heavy-duty aluminium track system is engineered to accommodate substantial panel loads.

  • Point Load Capacity: Up to 370 kg per suspension point

This robust design ensures safe operation, structural reliability, and long-term performance in demanding commercial environments.
